I have been enamored by photography since I was 12, when I first picked up my parents' old 35mm Nikkormat and began taking printing and developing classes. I spent many hundreds of hours in the darkroom in high school, captured by the power of the image. I have since switched to a digital workflow, but miss the darkroom.
When I moved to Boston, I became inspired by the city's great diversity and stunning contrasts: blunt and matter-of-fact, dignified and refined. Chilling ice and sweltering heat. Ancient brick and sparkling glass. Educated and elite, working class. I have attempted to capture Boston’s many contradictions and fascinating juxtapositions through my work, while at the same time revealing its multi-faceted inner beauty -- a beauty of grandeur, but also of subtlety.
My photographs have been published internationally in books, magazines, calendars, hotels, commercial and educational websites, public and private shows, and public and private collections.
